A small collection of letters written to Mrs. Elizabeth (Howard) Wainwright (Mrs. Peter) in Liverpool and elsewhere, primarily from her brother John C. Howard in Boston. The letters provide news of Boston, family matters, his medical education, and prospects as a physician in the 1790s. The collection also includes a few letters from her father Simeon, brother Algernon Sidney, and other members of the Howard family, most pertaining to personal and family matters.
